   This intermediate-level course provides physical therapists and physical therapist assistants with an updated primer on the study of ethics and ethical behaviors as they apply to physical therapy practice. The course is designed to help clinicians effectively and efficiently integrate ethical decision-making into their clinical practice.

Dementia 101 for the Healthcare Practitioner (2 hours)
   Introductory level course that provides healthcare practitioners with basic knowledge of dementia, including types, stages of decline, salient characteristics, related to clinical presentation.

ACL Injury, Surgery, and Rehabilitation: A Science-Based and Evidence-Informed Approach, 2nd Edition (8 hours)
   Provides physical therapists and physical therapist assistants an overview of the etiology and risk factors of isolated ACL injuries; to discuss pertinent clinical examination, classification, and prognosis after ACL injuries and reconstruction; and to review interventions relevant to successful outcomes after injury or surgery.

Fostering Development in Children with Special Needs: A Guide for Parents and Clinicians (4 hours)
   Children with special needs of any kind have the same need as other children to belong and feel significant in ways that elicit positive responses from those around them. And yet the ways in which they go about attempting to meet their needs frequently have the effect of alienating others and making them feel even more isolated and ineffectual. What is required is for us as clinicians, parents, and teachers to adapt our interactions with them to take their special needs into account without allowing these needs to block our vision of the children underneath. This is not an easy undertaking, as it involves managing to stay focused on children’s individual strengths while helping them understand and manage their challenges. This course will provide perspectives, strategies, and techniques for helping children with special needs and their parents find competence – and confidence – in managing behavior, sensory issues, speech and language challenges, and frustration by learning calming, supportive ways to build a cooperative and nurturing relationship.

Preventing Falls in Older Adults (5 hours)
   An older adult falls every second of every day, with more than 29 million falls occurring in 2014, resulting in more than 7 million injuries. This intermediate-level course provides healthcare professionals in the areas of physical and occupational therapy with the knowledge they need to successfully identify those at risk for falls, assess individuals, and develop interventions targeted at reducing fall risk in older adults. Although therapists may be aware of the need to assess and treat older adults for risk for falls, they may not be fully abreast of approaches that are supported by evidence and are proven to truly reduce the incidence of falls.
