Semmes-Weinstein monofilaments measure both diminishing and returning cutaneous sensation.  Nylon monofilaments precisely calibrated and equal length.  Five monofilament set tests, i.e. normal, diminished light touch, diminished protective sensation, loss of protective sensation, and untestable.  Each monofilament represents a unique amount of force and has a fitted protective case enables safe storage and transport.
