COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this course is to provide a foundation of current best practices in conservative application of LASER and Radial Pressure Wave based on current rationale. This course will provide basic knowledge and overview of therapeutic LASER and Radial Pressure Wave. The information provided will assist the clinician in providing effective LASER and Radial Pressure Wave treatments with a therapeutic purpose and to achieve outcomes that are beneficial to the patient. The program is designed to provide a hands-on approach for greater understanding of LASER and Radial Pressure Wave application and protocol development. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss treatment protocols and obtain practical experience in the implementation of the protocols.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basics in emission of laser and light
  • Describe the characteristics of laser
  • Describe the biochemical and physiologic effects of laser
  • Describe the indications and application of laser therapy
  • Define the basic physiological and biomechanical aspects to radial pressure wave therapy
  • List the indications to radial pressure wave therapy
  • Apply RPW as part of pathology management
